(Katherine) - My marriage to Chris - I woke up at 4:30 A.M. Had a pumpkin muffin and orange Juice for breakfast and Mom, Dad, Camellia and I left the farm by 05:30 am. Heather and Sarah did my hair and makeup from 7:15-9:15 in Cardston. It looked beautiful if I do say so myself. I met up with Chris at 9:30 in the Temple and it was so good to see him. He was beaming - I was too. It felt like home. President and Sister Hanson helped us to where we needed to go next and when I saw Chris again, that part was the best part in the Temple.
Our sealing was very special. President Hanson sealed us. He quoted some of a poem - How do I love thee. He talked about the importance of having a family.
Those who attended the Sealing were as follows: Mom and Dad Smith, Mom and Dad Watters, Camellia, Nathan, Doug, Jonathan and Kara Smith, Donavan and Candice Watters, Audrey and Jim Ellis, Tony and Sarah Brown, Eric and Racheal Watters, Aunt Sharan and Uncle Ian, Kamille and Paul Gainor, Heather, Sarah and Gord Woolf.
After the sealing, everyone was allowed to come up and congratulate us and I cried when Camellia gave me a hug.
It started raining and snowing right as soon as we walked out of the Temple. Oh, what an adventure. But I was okay with it - I was just happy. We had everyone rush outside to take a big group picture which was fun and we got a really nice one of the 2 of us in front of the Temple.
Ryan Michelson did our pictures and we did a lot of them in the Carriage center. We are excited to get them back.
We had our family dinner at the Carriage center and it was elegant and beautiful. There were about 40 people there. Heather and Sarah did touch ups on my makeup and hair. We ate breads and cheeses and little tasty desserts. Mom read a poem about us, Heather sang the song from Anastasia, "At the beginning with you," and Racheal and Wendy sang us a melody of Disney songs.
Chris and I drove to my home town church building together and it was a beautiful drive with light snow.
The reception started at 5:30 on the dot. It seems like everyone went through the line from 5:30 to 7:00 and then mom's friend from Red Deer came a bit late at 7:30. The cultural hall was soooo beautiful. Blue, white and silver. White tablecloths, blue napkins in the middle with white roses on the tables. Heromi played the piano. The guests had roast beef, baked potatoes, and salads and cupcakes and fruit for dessert. Chris and I danced to “Can I have this Dance” (Anne Murray). Camellia and Gill played the violins and Katherine Francis played the piano. And then Chris thanked everyone for coming and then we left at about 7:30. The car was all decorated, full of balloons, etc so we got it washed in Calgary before we went to our "bridge" -as Chris called it or I guess you could call it the Sheraton Hotel. Chris treats me like and Angel. I feel like an angle when I am around him.
